It's Sunday

It’s Sunday

Sundays are always meant to be special. One way or the other.

During the childhood days Sundays were of excitement. At any reason I used to get up at 7 or 7.15. Then comes, rangon ki holi Rangoli. I was addicted to it. After that it was the time to meet natural needs & newspaper grabbing from appa. Just like Rangoli, newspapers were my next addiction

At 9.00 We, me & my brother would be ready in front of the TV with breakfast plate in one hand, ready to enter into a fantasy World. " Chandrakanta Ki Kahani, Ye Maana Hai Purani, Ye Purani Hokar Bhi, Badi Lagthi Hai Suhani" (...).

Then time for plays & fights with brother, irritating amma with silly questions or playing with her pallu or hair. Till 4- 'full of energy'. After the 4 pm movie, we, the children would be at lowest of energy one could be. Sad (Sunday is over & here comes Monday), Anxious (Was there any homework? /Is tomorrow 'Bandh'? / Did some 'Neta' died, so we could get a holiday?...) After the news headlines (Nothing happened enough to make Monday Holiday), we'll be retiring to our homework. These things continued for a long time.

Now things got changed. After the tiring days of work, Sundays are so welcoming; it no more brings the warmth it had long back. No more Rangoli addiction, only newspaper addiction, but no grabbing. No more homework. No playful fights with brother as he’s away & busy with his projects & onsite calls. Sometimes I still irritate mom, but not by dangling on her pallu. J

As a child I had my share of happiness, tears and fears & now, like most of us, I too long for those days.

When Life Is Back In Track & Moving Smoothly...

Hi all,

So much was happening in my life that I was too busy even to login. At first 'Virus' was so generous that it affected every file in my system and I got to reinstall it. So, I lost my txt file in which I saved every passwords & Ids. (Stupid me, who never writes anything in book.)  Then it was the turn for furniture polishing. Though it’s over now, I'm still sleeping in my bro's room. He may come tomorrow. So at any cost I got to set my room back in place. Otherwise I'll be sleeping in the hall. Which is bit scary (secret).

That was the worst part. Now the exciting things happened. On July 1st I stared my very own Online Diary. I enjoyed it. As it’s a Diary daily postings are accepted. I love that (If I'm gonna post something here on daily basis, your inbox will be full & I’m sure you all will be thinking ' Gosh! Don't she have anything else to do?' So Diary is the good thing (No email updates to friends).

Well that’s it from my side. What’s happening on your end?

P.S: I 4gt the font I used till now. I dunno how this will turn out after posting. If I keep on editing, ur Inbox will be overflooded with my new post alerts. If anyone got problem in reading these fonts pls inform me, happy to keep on changing fonts. (Still which was the font I used???)

Wallflower

Wallflower

In the hours of darkness

I feel vagueness

Creeping towards me,

Touching with it’s cold

Frightening vines…

Here I am, sitting by myself

In the corner of my room

Staring to the shadows

Wrapped around me.

Alone, all alone.

The door is locked, but

Is it locked from outside or

From Inside?

Note: Friends, This is not about me. It's just my work.

Snake Gourd with Dal

Snake Gourd with dal

Ingredients

Snake gourd diced        - 1 medium sized

Dal                      - ½ cup

Onion diced              - 1 small

Green chili              - 1-2

Turmeric powder          - ¼ teaspoon

Grated coconut           - ½ cup

Cumin powder             - 2 pinches

Salt                     - to taste

Mustard                  - 1 teaspoon

Dried chilies (sliced)   - 2-3

Curry leaves             - 1 stem

Coconut oil              - 2 teaspoon

Method

Cook dal with enough water, turmeric powder & salt. When it’s half cooked add diced snake gourd, onion and green chili. Cover it with a lid. When it’s done, add grated coconut and cumin powder. Add salt if needed. Sauté until dries up & everything blends perfectly. Turn off the flame

In other pan heat oil and put mustard. Once it starts popping, add curry leaves & sliced red chilies. Pour this into the snake gourd.  Immediately cover it with a lid.  Mix well before serving.

Goes well with curd and rice.

Tip:  To cook dal in microwave add ½ teaspoon of oil.

Add grated coconut according to your taste buds.

Before adding curry leaves crush it with your fingers. It’ll give more aroma to the dish.
